Caribiana (caribiana.com) is an independent publication covering the Caribbean — its politics, culture, people, and everything in between. We are supported by advertising revenue. That means display ads, programmatic ads, and occasionally sponsored content will appear on the site. Sponsored content is labeled. Ads are ads. We don't blur that line.

You may read, share, and link to our content. That's the good stuff we want you doing.

You may not:

• Scrape, crawl, or harvest the site's content at scale without written permission
• Reproduce full articles or substantial portions of them without attribution and a link back
